Welcome to the totally rad holiday-themed party happening in a pretty sweet castle in the middle of nowhere! You were invited here by someone who was invited by someone else and--actually you have no idea who's hosting. You know how these things work. You think you saw Leonardo DiCaprio on a balcony when you were walking up the driveway, but it was probably just your imagination. Or a ghost. Spooky.

Whether you end up running into familiar faces or not, there seems to be plenty going on!

There's a food table covered with all sorts of sweet and savoury delights alike next to an open bar for all your rum and eggnog needs.

There's a piano trio playing jazzy holiday music in the corner who are also willing to provide karaoke instrumentals if you're feeling up to it.

Near the windows is a big Christmas tree with countless gifts beneath--you'll probably find at least a few with your name on them!

Need a break, or looking for some privacy? There are several small rooms branching off from the main room with comfy couches available for a quick nap. (Or other things, but keep in mind that a place as nice as this probably has security cameras everywhere.) Fresh air can be found easily out on one of the various balconies! What a romantic view.

Oh, and don't forget about the mistletoe! If you're found under one with someone else, you might find your wrist tied to theirs with a length of pretty red ribbon that'll stay there until you smooch. (What kind of castle is this?)

Anyway, the party seems to be carrying on 'til at least New Year's, so remember to sleep, eat, and stay hydrated, and most of all, have fun!

He's contributing a couple gifts of his own to the bunch under the tree, but also keeping an eye out for anyone he recognizes.]

[ yosuke's at one end of the food table, tugging in mild discomfort at the tie around his neck. he was tempted to take it off entirely, but a certain someone had made him promise to wear it (along with the rest of the incredibly crisp but admittedly sharp black suit he was currently donning) if he was going to attend the upscale party. he had to admit -- the food was so good it was almost worth feeling like he was locked in a permanent choke-hold by the length of golden fabric. he's reaching for a sixth dainty (some kind of... chocolate fudge thing? maybe?) when he notices the red ribbon that has suddenly appeared around his wrist. what? when did that get there?

looks like you've been mistletoe'd, yosuke! not that he has any idea what that means yet. now, who's got the other end of that ribbon...? ]

[Well, he's not going to have to look too far at least. Souji was just helping himself to a drink (after having made sure it was non-alcoholic) when he noticed the ribbon that was suddenly around his wrist.

... So of course the first thing he does, once he sets down his drink, is give it a tug.]

[Sorry Red, you may or may not have a small child underfoot.

Or, if not underfoot, at least in the immediate vicinity, making suspicious faces at various things on the food table.]

[ yosuke has just spotted his best friend beside him when he realizes what's going on, and makes a choked noise as the unexpected force catches him off guard, and pulls him a step closer. ]

Whoa -- Souji? Hey, what gives? Did you do this?

[ he frowns in confusion more than anything -- he's not suspicious or annoyed (yet), just quizzical. is this some kind of new ... friendship thing?? souji's trying out?? it's a little weird, and yosuke's not here to judge, but okay, he's kind of judging. why are they tied together??? ]

[foglifting]

... Ah--

[Oh, so that's who the other end was tied to... Souji quickly shakes his head.] I was just getting some drinks, then I noticed... [Nodding to the ribbon. He slides a finger under it, in an attempt to loosen the loop around his wrist, then frowns when it doesn't work.]

[... But what even is a Christmas?????

So you didn't...

[ now yosuke's REALLY confused. if souji didn't do it, then... someone very small and very sneaky is playing a prank on both of them?? he watches souji's attempt for a moment, then grabs a knife off the table and tries to cut it off -- the ribbon is apparently a lot tougher than it looks! ]

Okay, that's weird. What's this stuff made out of?

[ he's about to keep trying with the knife when a mysterious force PULLS him forward and almost sends him crashing against souji; luckily, in the interest of not stabbing him, yosuke drops the knife before the impact is made and it clatters to the floor. he's not paying attention to that anymore, though, because the reason for the sudden movement is apparent -- that ribbon between them just got way shorter. ]

Uh. Do you have an explanation for this, because I sure don't.

[foglifting]

Whoa-- [He reaches out to make sure Yosuke doesn't knock the both of them over.] You okay?

[He pauses, then shakes his head. He starts scanning the room for any possible pranksters.]

[guess who's probably sticking his face in the chocolate fountain]

[Gazelle has a mysteriously wrapped box that's making worrisome ticking noises]

Now where is he.

[Food is indeed good and is being disgustingly devoured by a wannabe hero]

Wow! [munch] This food [munch munch] is soo [munch munch] good!!

[While Gazelle has that package, there's a very big one some distance away, wrapped with snowflake-patterned wrapping paper and... is that duct tape?

... It's also moving occasionally, and while the voice coming from the package is muffled, it's also probably familiar :U]

Ugh, what is that, that's gross.

[The package is doing its best to writhe away from the kick, but... well, it can only get so far.]

[ he nods, and also tries looking around for the potential culprit. at least souji is keeping his cool about it... yosuke's getting more antsy and annoyed by the minute. not because he cares that much about getting tied to someone (and not that that is his idea of having fun, either, for the record!! he's not into this stuff! probably!), but it'd be real nice if someone could just tell him what was going on...

and then yosuke happens to look up, and suddenly, he wishes he was still confused. because what happens to be dangling directly over the both of them is a sprig of mistletoe and it's hanging from the ceiling with a ribbon in the exact same shade as the one around his wrist. he groans, audibly. ]

No way... this is a joke, right? Please tell me it's a joke.

It is... I wonder who made all of it? [Because there does seem to be a lot.

[Really, as far as Souji's concerned, being tied together with someone is more of an inconvenience than anything, but considering the ribbon shortened itself, he's a touch concerned it might do so again...

He looks over at Yosuke when the other groans, then follows his gaze upward.

Oh.]

... If it's a joke, it's not exactly a good one...
