❄ HOLIDAY BASH ❄

Welcome to the totally rad holiday-themed party happening in a pretty sweet castle in the middle of nowhere! You were invited here by someone who was invited by someone else and--actually you have no idea who's hosting. You know how these things work. You think you saw Leonardo DiCaprio on a balcony when you were walking up the driveway, but it was probably just your imagination. Or a ghost. Spooky.

Whether you end up running into familiar faces or not, there seems to be plenty going on!

There's a food table covered with all sorts of sweet and savoury delights alike next to an open bar for all your rum and eggnog needs.

There's a piano trio playing jazzy holiday music in the corner who are also willing to provide karaoke instrumentals if you're feeling up to it.

Near the windows is a big Christmas tree with countless gifts beneath--you'll probably find at least a few with your name on them!

Need a break, or looking for some privacy? There are several small rooms branching off from the main room with comfy couches available for a quick nap. (Or other things, but keep in mind that a place as nice as this probably has security cameras everywhere.) Fresh air can be found easily out on one of the various balconies! What a romantic view.

Oh, and don't forget about the mistletoe! If you're found under one with someone else, you might find your wrist tied to theirs with a length of pretty red ribbon that'll stay there until you smooch. (What kind of castle is this?)

Anyway, the party seems to be carrying on 'til at least New Year's, so remember to sleep, eat, and stay hydrated, and most of all, have fun!

Isn't that what people would normally think of when they've been tied together?

[The hand that isn't bound by the ribbon goes up to rub the back of his neck sheepishly.]

... So, d'you want to... just get this over with? Since... [He lifts the other hand, jerking forward a little when the ribbon shortens further. What was that about practically holding hands...]

[So...are we just letting the whole cutting it idea drop.... Okay I guess we are.

They're holding hands now. It's pretty weird. It's also kind of nice. Keisuke is a little bit confused.]

...Yeah. It doesn't need to be a...deep one, does it?

[Ryuuji likes holding hands with Keisuke, he's decided. He won't comment on it, since the kissing thing is kind of a bigger concern right now, but...

It's definitely nice.]

I don't think so, no.

Goo-... Alright. ['Good' makes it sound like nobody would want to kiss Ryuuji deeply. He can think of at least one (very pink-hued) person who would probably love to. 'Alright' is more like 'alright let's do this', which is more like how Keisuke wants to believe he feels about this.

But he just shuffles awkwardly instead of making a move. One might think he's never kissed someone else before.]

[... Is this all on him, then? Well, okay.

He flashes a smile at Keisuke, before inhaling slowly and leaning in. If Ryuuji's nervous, it's not showing on his face.]

[It takes him a moment to notice Ryuuji is leaning in, and then a moment longer for it to occur to Keisuke that maybe he should, too. So he scrunches his eyes closed and leans forward. A bit too quickly.]

Ow! [Lips did not meet first.]

Ack--! [And just like that, Ryuuji pulls away, rubbing at his nose with his untied hand.

He's chuckling a little despite that, though--it's ridiculous. This situation's ridiculous.]

Let's... let's try that again.

That...could have gone better.

[He is very confused, and he is very confusing, and he is very sorry.]

I liked the other use for mistletoe better.

[He blinks a couple of times before his chuckling turns into laughing.

Ridiculous indeed.]

I think I liked that better too, all things considered...

[Weird, how talking about that of all things helps this get slightly less awkward.

Okay, let's try the leaning in thing again. Maybe with eyes open this time.]

[And with that, Ryuuji leans in, too--and this time, he's tilting his head a little as he presses his lips to Keisuke's and then closing his eyes.]

[Oh goodness, Ryuuji's face is kind of close- closing his eyes sounds like a great idea. He follows suit.

He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but soft lips didn't factor into his equation. ...Um.]

[Ryuuji lingers a bit--maybe a little longer than strictly necessary for a "just to satisfy this stupid mistletoe" kiss--before pulling away.

... And he's almost immediately mentally kicking himself for stopping it there because it was really nice and he almost wants to kiss Keisuke again and--wow Ryuuji is just really kind of done with his brain right now.]

[It's over already?

Wait, why was that his first thought?! It was just to get rid of the stupid ribbon. Means nothing. He shouldn't be at all sad that it means nothing, dammit!

He rubs at his now-free wrist, not noticing he's still holding Ryuuji's hand. What's he supposed to say now? 'It was good'? 'Thank you'? 'Glad that's over'? 'And we shall never speak of this again'?

...The floor sure is fascinating. Yup.]

[Ryuuji, on the other hand, is just kind of glaring up at the mistletoe, even if the ribbon that was tying his and Keisuke's wrists together is now harmlessly lying on the floor.

He's not really certain what to say, either... he wants to speak up, if it means breaking this awkward silence, but...]
